The Board of the Canada Arab Congress on MENA Relations (CACMR) was delighted to attend a special Thanksgiving Dinner hosted by Embassy Connections Canada on Tuesday, October 7, 2025, at the elegant Fairmont Château Laurier in Ottawa.
The evening was graciously organized by Mr. Jerry Sherman, President of Embassy Connections Canada, and featured a distinguished guest speaker — The Honourable Todd Goudy, Speaker of the Legislative Assembly of Saskatchewan.
Held in the historic Drawing Room of the Château Laurier, the dinner gathered ambassadors, diplomats, parliamentarians and leaders from Canada’s diverse cultural and business communities. The event celebrated the spirit of Thanksgiving, friendship and mutual understanding — values that resonate deeply with the mission of the Canada Arab Congress.
The Honourable Todd Goudy shared inspiring reflections on his journey from his early years in Saskatchewan to his leadership role as Speaker of the Legislative Assembly. His remarks touched on the importance of community service, democratic values and the shared responsibilities of building bridges across regions and cultures.
Mr. Goudy’s story — from his work supporting democratic reform and rebuilding efforts in Albania, to his years as an entrepreneur and public servant — was both moving and motivating. His message underscored the role that compassion, perseverance, and faith play in leadership and public life.
The Board of the Canada Arab Congress expressed its appreciation for the warm invitation extended by Mr. Sherman and his wife and for the gracious hospitality they extended to all guests throughout the evening.
As we mark this season of gratitude, the Canada Arab Congress extends its warmest wishes to all Canadians celebrating Thanksgiving Day. حضر مجلس إدارة الكونجرس الكندي العربي لعلاقات الشرق الأوسط وشمال أفريقيا حفل عشاء شكر خاص أقامته مؤسسة “إمباسي كونيكشنز كندا” يوم الثلاثاء 7 أكتوبر 2025، في فندق فيرمونت شاتو لورييه الفاخر في أوتاوا.
قام السيد جيري شيرمان، رئيس “إمباسي كونيكشنز كندا”، بتنظيم الحفل، وتحدث فيه ضيف الشرف، السيد تود غودي، رئيس المجلس التشريعي لساسكاتشوان.
أُقيم حفل العشاء في قاعة الاستقبال التاريخية بقصر لورييه، وجمع سفراء ودبلوماسيين وبرلمانيين وقادة من مختلف الأوساط الثقافية والتجارية في كندا. احتفى الحفل بروح الشكر والصداقة والتفاهم المتبادل، وهي قيم تتوافق تمامًا مع رسالة الكونجرس الكندي العربي.
شارك سعادة تود جودي بأفكار ملهمة حول مسيرته المهنية، بدءًا من سنواته الأولى في ساسكاتشوان وصولًا إلى دوره القيادي كرئيس للجمعية التشريعية. وتناولت كلماته أهمية خدمة المجتمع والقيم الديمقراطية والمسؤوليات المشتركة لبناء الجسور بين المناطق والثقافات.
كانت قصة السيد جودي – بدءًا من عمله في دعم الإصلاح الديمقراطي وجهود إعادة البناء في ألبانيا، وصولًا إلى سنوات عمله كرائد أعمال وموظف حكومي – مؤثرة ومحفزة. وأكدت رسالته على دور التعاطف والمثابرة والإيمان في القيادة والحياة العامة.
أعرب مجلس إدارة الكونجرس الكندي العربي عن تقديره للدعوة الكريمة التي قدمها السيد شيرمان وزوجته، ولكرم ضيافتهما لجميع الضيوف طوال الأمسية.
وبينما نحتفل بهذا الموسم من الامتنان، يتقدم الكونجرس الكندي العربي بأحر التهاني لجميع الكنديين الذين يحتفلون بعيد الشكر. أتمنى أن يجلب هذا الوقت الخاص السلام والفرح والترابط للعائلات والمجتمعات في جميع أنحاء البلاد – وهو وقت لتقديم الشكر على نعمنا المشتركة والروابط الدائمة التي توحدنا.
Le Conseil d’administration du Congrès canado-arabe sur les relations MENA (CCARA) a eu le plaisir d’assister à un dîner spécial de l’Action de grâces offert par Embassy Connections Canada le mardi 7 octobre 2025, à l’élégant hôtel Fairmont Château Laurier d’Ottawa.
La soirée, gracieusement organisée par M. Jerry Sherman, président d’Embassy Connections Canada, a accueilli un conférencier de marque : l’honorable Todd Goudy, président de l’Assemblée législative de la Saskatchewan.
Tené dans le salon historique du Château Laurier, le dîner a réuni ambassadeurs, diplomates, parlementaires et dirigeants des diverses communautés culturelles et d’affaires du Canada. L’événement a célébré l’esprit de l’Action de grâces, l’amitié et la compréhension mutuelle – des valeurs qui résonnent profondément avec la mission du Congrès canado-arabe.
L’honorable Todd Goudy a partagé des réflexions inspirantes sur son parcours, de ses premières années en Saskatchewan à son rôle de président de l’Assemblée législative. Son discours a souligné l’importance du service communautaire, des valeurs démocratiques et de la responsabilité partagée de bâtir des ponts entre les régions et les cultures.
Le récit de M. Goudy – de son engagement pour la réforme démocratique et la reconstruction en Albanie à ses années d’entrepreneuriat et de service public – était à la fois émouvant et inspirant. Son message a souligné l’importance de la compassion, de la persévérance et de la foi dans le leadership et la vie publique.
Le conseil d’administration du Congrès canado-arabe a exprimé sa gratitude envers M. Sherman et son épouse pour leur chaleureuse invitation et leur aimable hospitalité tout au long de la soirée.
