The Canada Arab Congress on Middle East and North Africa Relations (CACMR) proudly recognizes the participation of Ana Krstanovic, Director of Government Relations, Advocacy, Trade & Investment at CACMR and Interim Executive Director of TRF, as a distinguished panelist at the international forum “Innovative Finance around South-South Cooperation” held in Santa Marta, Colombia from May 6 to 8, 2026.
The panel, organized by Agencia Presidencial de Cooperación Internacional de Colombia (APC Colombia), brought together global leaders, diplomats, policymakers, and development experts to discuss how innovative financing models can strengthen cooperation among countries, institutions, and communities across the Global South.
Among the high-level participants and officials attending the forum were Mauricio Jaramillo Jassir, Vice Minister for Multilateral Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Colombia; William Alexander Deleon, Deputy Director General of ESCO; H.E. Mr. Lukman Abdulraheem Al Faily, Permanent Representative of Iraq to the United Nations; Raouf Al-Maliki, Palestinian Ambassador to Colombia; Adrian Bernie Candolada, Ambassador of the Philippines to Colombia; Mateo Estrémé, National Director of International Cooperation at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Argentina; Yuliana Angelova, Counsellor at the Permanent Mission of Bulgaria to the United Nations; H.E. Omar Hilale, President of the HLC; and Alexandra Palencia Garnica, Vice-President of the HLC.
During the discussion, Ms. Krstanovic highlighted the importance of collaborative financing mechanisms that not only mobilize capital, but also advance partnerships, trust, and shared development objectives. The conversation emphasized that innovative finance is ultimately about moving cooperation forward and creating sustainable infrastructure for long-term international collaboration.
The forum served as an important platform for advancing dialogue on South-South cooperation and reinforcing the role of strategic partnerships in addressing global economic and development challenges.
