Toronto, Canada— On April 30th, 2026, Mr. Abdullatif Al-Shaikh, Chair and President of the Canada Arab Congress on Middle East and North Africa Relations (CACMR), had the honour and privilege of meeting His Royal Highness Prince Turki bin Faisal bin Abdulaziz Al Saud during His Royal Highness’ recent visit to Toronto, Canada.
The distinguished event took place at the renowned Munk School of Global Affairs & Public Policy, where HRH Prince Turki delivered an exceptional and thought-provoking discussion on the rapidly evolving geopolitical landscape of the Middle East and the broader international order.
During the discussion, His Royal Highness shared profound insights on ongoing regional developments, including tensions and conflict involving Iran, while reflecting on the emergence of a “new Middle East” within an increasingly shifting global framework. Drawing from decades of diplomatic and strategic leadership, HRH Prince Turki offered a perspective marked by wisdom, depth, and statesmanship.
The occasion was attended by several distinguished leaders, diplomats, academics and members of the international community, including Canada’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Anita Anand, who delivered welcoming remarks in honour of His Royal Highness Prince Turki bin Faisal bin Abdulaziz Al Saud. Minister Anand emphasized the importance of dialogue, diplomacy and Canada’s ongoing engagement in advancing peace and stability in the Middle East and globally.
Also in attendance was Her Excellency Amal Yahya Almoalimi, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to Canada, alongside numerous prominent dignitaries and leaders from across the diplomatic, academic and business communities.
Mr. Al-Shaikh expressed his appreciation for the opportunity to engage in such an important dialogue, emphasizing the value of strengthening Canada-Arab relations and fostering meaningful conversations surrounding peace, diplomacy, and international cooperation.
