Toronto, Ontario – February 19, 2026 – The Canada Arab Congress on Middle East and North Africa Relations (CACMR) is pleased to announce the participation of its President, Mr. Abdullatif Al-Shaikh, at the launch of the 10th Ontario Economic Report, hosted by the The Empire Club of Canada in partnership with the Ontario Chamber of Commerce (OCC).
Held under the theme “Ontario at a Crossroads: Competitiveness, Confidence & Growth in a New Global Reality,” the event convened senior government officials, business executives, and policy leaders to address the evolving economic landscape, including global trade pressures, investment challenges, and opportunities for long-term growth.
During the event, Mr. Al-Shaikh had the honour of meeting with the Honourable Mélanie Joly, Canada’s Minister of Industry, and engaging in discussions on strengthening Canada’s global economic partnerships and fostering investment opportunities between Canada and the Middle East and North Africa region.
Mr. Al-Shaikh also met with Mr. Daniel Tisch, President and Chief Executive Officer of the Ontario Chamber of Commerce, and Mr. Louie Di Palma, Vice-President, SME Programs at the OCC. Their discussions focused on enhancing collaboration to support small and medium-sized enterprises, expanding international market access, and identifying opportunities to connect Ontario businesses with emerging markets.
