The Canada Arab Congress on Middle East and North Africa Relations (CACMR) expresses its profound shock at the accelerating humanitarian tragedy in Sudan, where over 15 million people endure the weight of forced displacement, while the ghost of famine and catastrophic food insecurity tightens its grip on the lives of a third of the population. This grim reality is compounded by ongoing reports of systemic and grave violations targeting women and children, alongside the total collapse of the healthcare system and basic infrastructure. Such a crisis not only threatens Sudan’s present but undermines the future of its generations.
Grounded in the values of justice and human rights that form the core of our mission, and while reaffirming our respect for state sovereignty and territorial integrity, CACMR calls for immediate action to achieve the following:
An immediate and comprehensive ceasefire throughout Sudan.
The opening of safe and unrestricted humanitarian corridors to ensure aid reaches civilians.
The release of arbitrarily detained persons as a trust-building measure and to foster an environment for dialogue.
Refraining from any external interventions or supplies that contribute to fueling or prolonging the conflict.
Launching a comprehensive political process under the auspices of the United Nations and the African Union, based on the Sudanese people’s aspirations for democratic civilian rule.
Supporting international efforts aimed at accountability for gross violations.
Strengthening Canadian humanitarian support, facilitating family reunification, and providing protection pathways for those affected.
CACMR urges the Canadian government to continue its constructive role in supporting the humanitarian response and to work with international partners to mobilize effective efforts to end the war and return Sudan to the path of peace and stability. Protecting civilians and ending this suffering is an urgent humanitarian and moral responsibility that requires serious and coordinated international action by all.
دعوة عاجلة لوقف الحرب في السودان واحتواء الكارثة الإنسانية المتفاقمة
يعرب الكونغرس الكندي العربي لعلاقات الشرق الأوسط وشمال أفريقيا عن عميق صدمته إزاء المأساة الإنسانية المتسارعة في السودان، حيث يرزح أكثر من 15 مليون إنسان تحت وطأة النزوح القسري، بينما يطبق شبح المجاعة وانعدام الأمن الغذائي الكارثي على حياة ثلث السكان الاخرين. وتتضاعف قتامة هذا المشهد مع توالي التقارير عن انتهاكات جسيمة وممنهجة تستهدف النساء والأطفال، والانهيار الشامل للمنظومة الصحية والبنية التحتية؛ مما لا يهدد حاضر السودان فحسب، بل يقوّض مستقبل أجياله بالكامل. واستناداً إلى قيم العدالة وحقوق الإنسان التي يشكل الدفاع عنها جوهر رسالتنا، ومع التأكيد على احترام سيادة الدول ووحدة أراضيها، ينادي الكونغرس بالتحرك الفوري لتحقيق ما يلي:
وقف فوري وشامل لإطلاق النار في جميع أنحاء السودان.
فتح ممرات إنسانية آمنة ودون قيود لضمان وصول المساعدات للمدنيين.
الإفراج عن المحتجزين تعسفياً كبادرة لبناء الثقة وتهيئة المناخ للحوار.
الامتناع عن أي تدخلات أو إمدادات خارجية تسهم في تأجيج الصراع أو إطالة أمده.
توحيد الجهود الدولية لإطلاق عملية سياسية شاملة برعاية الأمم المتحدة والاتحاد الأفريقي، تستند إلى تطلعات الشعب السوداني في حكم مدني ديمقراطي.
دعم الجهود الدولية الرامية إلى المساءلة عن الانتهاكات الجسيمة.
تعزيز الدعم الإنساني الكندي، وتسهيل لمّ شمل الأسر وتوفير مسارات حماية للمتضررين.
ويحثّ الكونغرس الحكومة الكندية على مواصلة دورها البنّاء في دعم الاستجابة الإنسانية، والعمل مع الشركاء الدوليين لحشد جهود فاعلة تضع حدًا للحرب وتعيد السودان إلى مسار السلام والاستقرار. إن حماية المدنيين وإنهاء هذه المعاناة مسؤولية إنسانية وأخلاقية عاجلة تتطلب تحركًا دوليًا جادًا ومنسقًا من قبل الجميع.

Le Congrès canado-arabe sur les relations au Moyen-Orient et en Afrique du Nord (CCRAM) exprime sa profonde consternation face à l’aggravation de la tragédie humanitaire au Soudan, où plus de 15 millions de personnes subissent le poids du déplacement forcé, tandis que la menace de la famine et d’une insécurité alimentaire catastrophique pèse de plus en plus sur un tiers de la population. Cette sombre réalité est exacerbée par des rapports continus faisant état de violations systémiques et graves visant les femmes et les enfants, ainsi que par l’effondrement total du système de santé et des infrastructures de base. Une telle crise menace non seulement le présent du Soudan, mais compromet également l’avenir des générations futures.
Fidèle aux valeurs de justice et de droits humains qui sont au cœur de notre mission, et tout en réaffirmant notre respect de la souveraineté et de l’intégrité territoriale des États, le CCRAM appelle à une action immédiate pour parvenir aux objectifs suivants :
Un cessez-le-feu immédiat et global sur l’ensemble du territoire soudanais.
L’ouverture de couloirs humanitaires sûrs et sans restriction afin de garantir que l’aide parvienne aux civils.
La libération des personnes détenues arbitrairement, à titre de mesure de confiance et afin de favoriser un climat propice au dialogue.
S’abstenir de toute intervention ou fourniture extérieure susceptible d’alimenter ou de prolonger le conflit.
Lancer un processus politique global sous l’égide des Nations Unies et de l’Union africaine, fondé sur les aspirations du peuple soudanais à un régime civil démocratique.
Appuyer les efforts internationaux visant à établir les responsabilités pour les violations flagrantes.
Renforcer l’aide humanitaire canadienne, faciliter le regroupement familial et offrir des voies de protection aux personnes touchées.
Le CACMR exhorte le gouvernement canadien à poursuivre son rôle constructif dans le soutien à la réponse humanitaire et à collaborer avec ses partenaires internationaux afin de mobiliser des efforts efficaces pour mettre fin à la guerre et ramener le Soudan sur la voie de la paix et de la stabilité. Protéger les civils et mettre fin à ces souffrances est une responsabilité humanitaire et morale urgente qui exige une action internationale sérieuse et coordonnée de tous.
