The Board of the Canada Arab Congress on Middle East and North Africa Relations (CACMR) had the honour of meeting with His Excellency Dr. Abdul Rahman Hamid Al Hosseini, Ambassador of the Republic of Iraq to Canada, at the Embassy of Iraq in Ottawa.
The meeting provided an opportunity to strengthen bilateral relations and explore new avenues for collaboration between Canada and Iraq. Discussions focused on enhancing trade, investment, and innovation partnerships, with particular attention to infrastructure development, education, technology, and energy cooperation.
The CACMR Board expressed its appreciation for His Excellency Dr. Al Hosseini’s continued efforts to advance economic and diplomatic ties between the two countries, emphasizing the shared goal of promoting sustainable growth and deeper engagement between Canadian and Iraqi institutions and business communities.
“Canada and Iraq share a long-standing relationship built on mutual respect and partnership. We look forward to furthering this collaboration through stronger business and cultural connections,” said Abdullatif Al-Shaikh, President of the Canada Arab Congress on Middle East and North Africa Relations (CACMR).
The Congress looks forward to continuing its dialogue with the Embassy of Iraq and working together on initiatives that strengthen cooperation, trade, and mutual understanding between Canada and the Arab world.

تشرف مجلس إدارة الكونجرس الكندي العربي لعلاقات الشرق الأوسط وشمال أفريقيا بلقاء سعادة الدكتور عبد الرحمن حامد الحسيني، سفير جمهورية العراق لدى كندا، في مقر سفارة العراق بأوتاوا.
أتاح الاجتماع فرصة لتعزيز العلاقات الثنائية واستكشاف آفاق جديدة للتعاون بين كندا والعراق. وركزت المناقشات على تعزيز شراكات التجارة والاستثمار والابتكار، مع التركيز بشكل خاص على تطوير البنية التحتية والتعليم والتكنولوجيا والتعاون في مجال الطاقة.
أعرب مجلس إدارة الكونجرس الكندي العربي لعلاقات الشرق الأوسط وشمال أفريقيا عن تقديره لجهود سعادة الدكتور الحسيني المتواصلة لتعزيز العلاقات الاقتصادية والدبلوماسية بين البلدين، مؤكدًا على الهدف المشترك المتمثل في تعزيز النمو المستدام وتعميق التعاون بين المؤسسات ومجتمعات الأعمال الكندية والعراقية.
قال عبد اللطيف الشيخ، رئيس الكونجرس الكندي العربي لعلاقات الشرق الأوسط وشمال أفريقيا : “تربط كندا والعراق علاقة عريقة مبنية على الاحترام المتبادل والشراكة. ونتطلع إلى تعزيز هذا التعاون من خلال تعزيز الروابط التجارية والثقافية”.
ويتطلع الكونجرس إلى مواصلة حواره مع سفارة العراق والعمل معًا على مبادرات تعزز التعاون والتجارة والتفاهم المتبادل بين كندا والعالم العربي.

Le Conseil d’administration du Congrès canado-arabe sur les relations au Moyen-Orient et en Afrique du Nord (CCRAM) a eu l’honneur de rencontrer Son Excellence M. Abdul Rahman Hamid Al Hosseini, ambassadeur de la République d’Irak au Canada, à l’ambassade d’Irak à Ottawa.
Cette rencontre a permis de renforcer les relations bilatérales et d’explorer de nouvelles pistes de collaboration entre le Canada et l’Irak. Les discussions ont porté sur le développement des partenariats commerciaux, d’investissement et d’innovation, avec une attention particulière portée au développement des infrastructures, à l’éducation, aux technologies et à la coopération énergétique.
Le Conseil d’administration du CCRAM a salué les efforts constants de Son Excellence M. Al Hosseini pour faire progresser les liens économiques et diplomatiques entre les deux pays, soulignant l’objectif commun de promouvoir une croissance durable et un engagement plus étroit entre les institutions et les milieux d’affaires canadiens et irakiens.
« Le Canada et l’Irak entretiennent une relation de longue date fondée sur le respect mutuel et le partenariat. Nous nous réjouissons à la perspective d’approfondir cette collaboration grâce à des liens commerciaux et culturels plus étroits », a déclaré M. Abdullatif Al-Shaikh, président du Congrès canado-arabe sur les relations au Moyen-Orient et en Afrique du Nord (CCRAM).
Le Congrès se réjouit de poursuivre son dialogue avec l’ambassade d’Irak et de collaborer à des initiatives visant à renforcer la coopération, le commerce et la compréhension mutuelle entre le Canada et le monde arabe.
